Press Release on COVID -19 – Essential commodities (21st May 2021)

In view of the continuous spike of Covid-19 cases in Ri Bhoi District. a Total Curfew has been promulgated in the District to contain the disecase and breaking the chain of transmission and preventling it from spreading to new areas in the District. During this period the following are the instructions to all the general public:
1. Essential commodities shops are not allowed to open except those which have been identified by the Headman and these selected retailers are not permited to leave their villages for refilling the stock. The timings of these shops will be regulated by the Incident Commander (BDO) in consultation with the Headman.
2. Identified wholesalers will be issued with passes for refilling the stock of the identified local shops in the village.
