“All the people especially students coming back home to Ri Bhoi District from COVID-19 affected states within India are advised to go for self-quarantine at their homes whether with or without symptoms and notify/call District Administration through 108/8787520449/03658-232028/1077 (1077 from landline only) and take advisory accordingly. Mandatory social distancing period of 14 days must be followed as precautionary measures so that transmission chain can be stopped”.

The ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programme of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST, aims to motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in classes 6 to 10.

The objective of the scheme is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children. This will help address the societal needs through science and technology and nurture them to become sensitive and responsible citizens and innovation leaders of tomorrow.

Under this scheme, schools can nominate 2-3 best innovative ideas, through online mode, in E-Management of INSPIRE Award Scheme (E-MIAS) web portal of the department using the link: www.inspireawards-dst.gov.in. The online nominations for 2019-20, are being resumed from 15th Feb, 2019. The schools will be able to submit their online nomination till 31st July, 2019.

We request all the schools of Ri Bhoi district, to apply online nominations under the MANAK scheme for 2019-20 before the given deadline. The schools are requested to submit their nominations well before the given deadline in order to avoid last minute inconvenience encountered due to heavy load in the E-MIAS web portal.
